I chose this course since I have no background in economics and since I am working with animal health. I enjoyed the web lectures especially since they were very informative and well performed. I really enjoyed the multiple choice questions included and I wish there were more questions related to the lectures. I enjoyed the text book (easy to understand and read), and the assignments. I think it is important to make incentives for other participant to make comments. It created a very lively and goose companionship among us students. I would very much recommend this course to other veterinarians or other interested in animal health economics, and for PhD students interested in animal health, it should be a must!
Distance learning
I really enjoyed distance learning. It gave me the time, the flexibility and the economics to participate in the course. This was my first experience with distance learning, and I was a little anxious that it would be a solo race without any opportunity to do any socializing at all (which is an important part when participating in courses=networking) but since so many of the participant were online all the time, you got instant feedback on your comments and it was as you were in the same “room”. I am going to conduct a cost-benefit analysis in my Post Doc, so this course was an introduction to economics for me, which I hopefully can extend further.
