Gerrit Koop is Assistant Professor and a veterinary epidemiologist at the Department of Farm animal health at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Utrecht University. He teaches in the Bachelor and Master of Veterinary Medicine and in the postgraduate Master ‘Veterinary epidemiology and economics’. His main subjects are epidemiology, statistics, clinical reasoning and small ruminant health.
His main research focus is on udder health in dairy goats. He is interested in bacteriology (especially Staphylococcus aureus), molecular epidemiology, diagnostic test evaluation, latent class models, total bacterial count problems and udder health problems.
